Truck Repair: hydraulic clutch, gravity work, hydraulic clutch

Question
Van, can you explain the proceedure tto bleed the clutch on a 89,chevy 3/4 ton 4x4,just replaced the clutch in it

Answer
Hi Steve,
Normally, if you just remove, or loosen the bleeder screw on the slave cylinder, and let gravity work, it will bleed itself, if you keep the master cylinder full.
You can speed it up by having someone pump the pedal while you hold a finger over the bleeder screw(Loosely). But there is no return spring, so the pedal may stay down.
Main thing, though, is to keep the master cyl reservoir full while you mess with it.
