Truck Repair: Truck wont start, chevy 4x4, fuses

I went to start my 87 chevy 4x4 350 eng. auto trans. yesterday.I thought it was going to start so I released the key and hit has'nt done anything since except turn-over.Please help...

You need to see if there is spark at a plug wire.
If not, check fuses first. Then, you may need to check for power to the distributor. The red wire.
If no power there, and all fuses are good, you may need an ignition switch.
I wouldn't run out and buy one though, cause there are many connectors that it could be also, as well as other areas to look.
But checking for spark, and checking for fuel is where you are right now.
