Question
Would removing the exhaust system off this cause it not start. It ran before I did this.

Answer
I'm not at all expert on E types, but... I can't think how removing the exhaust would directly cause the problem. Most likely in my opinion: is the fuel pump working (clicking) when you turn on the ignition? If not, your exhaust work maybe dislodged/broke the pump wiring. Easily checked with a check light at the pump terminal, ignition on. And the pump must be properly grounded to the frame. If it's not that, still consider dislodged wires: ignition, etc. Or try someone more expert. Sorry not to suggest more.
