Vintage Cars: value of vintage 1971 280SL, body rust, 280sl

picture of 1971 280sl   Hi, we have a 1971 280sl - all original, 73K miles.  The engine needs to be redone.  We haven't driven it for years and would like to sell.  Do you have any advice on how to sell in Indianapolis, IN and approx value? With great thanks!

well the 280 is not the most sought after of the SL's. You say the engine needs redone, why?  How is the body - Rust?
Mileage really does not matter.
Any service history ?

If all the above are - engine needs replaced or rebuilt, yes it has a lot of rust, no , I dont have service history  - 3K at the very best .  
Best bet is to get on Forum like Peachparts.com or Craigslist
