Vintage Cars: 1933 Hupmobile, north central states, serial number plate

Question
44000 miles body good, seats need redone. Been garaged since 1974. Runs ok. What would the value on something like this

Answer
Without more specifics, it would be tough to say. Photographs would allow me to assess the condition of the vehicle. Also, it would be helpful to know what model (B, F, I or K) the car is - a B-316 (small 6-cylinder) sedan in reasonable running condition might bring 5-7K, while a Model I (large 8-cylinder) roadster in the same condition could bring upwards of 30K.

The serial number plate on the firewall under the hood will allow you to determine the model identifier - there is a pre-printed letter on the plate, which is the model. For example, a Model K (large 6-cylinder) would have the letter K on the plate, and then a 5 digit number stamped on the plate.

If you would like more detailed information, send me some photos of the car and the serial number, and I can give you a pretty good estimate of it's value. Location is also a bonus - a car in the Southwest will generally bring more than a car in the north-central states. Send the information to rboberjr@yahoo.com, and I'll be more than glad to help you.

Regards,

Dick.
