Vintage Cars: R107 350 SL, sl350, car fuel

Question
Hi Ron

I have an early 70's SL350 R107, if I start the car fuel comes out of the base of the injector and head, it doesnt spray out but rises up from the head into the area around the injector. If I turn on the ignition but dont start the car the same happens and its a lot of fuel coming out not just a little.
Any help please.

you need to replace the injector seals, rubber gaskeets around the base of the injector, easy job and not expensive. It comes out because the fuel lines are under pressure, even just turning the key activates the fuel pump that presurizes symptoms.
Get this taken care of, it is a real FIRE hazard
good luck
