Vintage Cars: re: 71 250CE, electrical tester, floor pans

Question
Hi Ron,
I came across your site surfing the web.
I'm fixing a 71 250CE. She is rusty - i hadn't turned it over for about 2 years - now i can't seem to get anything - Battery fully charged......perhaps a wire loose?

btw - if anyone needs full floor pans for 114 - this guy has them http://www.alfaparts.net/index.html

Answer
if by nothing you mean no starter noise then I would look at the ground from the battery and then work my way to the starter.  You may need an electrical tester.  Another no start is the netral safety switch, sometimes that corrodes.  Move the gear lever through the ranges several times.   But there a another hundred or so reasons a car that has sat for 2 years wont start. SO once it turns over keep your fingers crossed.  make sure the engine is not "stuck" take out the plugs and try rotating the flywheel
