Vintage Cars: Classic Muscle Cars, classic muscle cars, classic muscle car

Question
Would you recommend a classic muscle car for everyday use? And if no why? If yes should I look for a certain make or model or type of restoration?

Answer
Reasons in favor of your idea:

1) It would be a cool car to be seen in by others.

Reasons against the idea:

1) Insurance costs could be outrageous
2) Poor gas mileage
3) Parts are expensive and rare, and every day you drive it means more parts are wearing out
4) True muscle cars have become valuable collector items- everyday you drive it, you're decreasing its value
5) No safety features- you might be careful, but if someone else plows into you, your risk of serious injury is astronomically higher than if you're in a modern car.
6) Marginal suspensions, poor brakes.  These cars don't drive nearly as well as a modern vehicle, which means less accident avoidance, and they can be tiring to drive on a daily basis.
7) Lack of modern comfort creatures you're probably taking for granted in your current vehicle.  No a/c, cruise control, power windows or door locks, intermittent wipers, only an AM radio, etc...

Need I go on?  My advice: look at a new Mustang.  It has the great retro looks, sound and feel, but makes perfect sense in a day-to-day vehicle.
