Vintage Cars: 1985 380 sl convertible mercedes, mile oil changes, convertible mercedes

I have found a $5,500 380 sl convertible for sale.  It is in nice condition with
115K miles.  It is a one owner with all the paperwork.  Is this a good deal and
what should I look out for with this year and model.  Thanks!

by 1985 the 380's were back to dual chains and a lot of the fuel delivery problems that plagued the early years had been fixed.  Only common complaint is underpower for the car.  At 115K and all service records around 5K is reasonable.  Look for rust in trunk , pull up mat, and under carpets., look in wheel wells and jack points for rust
THe major pain on these cars is the AC /heat system, make sure it works , the servo in these babies that control all the HVAC is major $$$
Paperwork and history is a real plus, look for frequent 4-5K mile oil changes, tranny service and cooling system maintenace.
