Vintage Cars: Dust cap, mercedes star, wheel cap

Ron, I am in possession of a wheel cap dustcover about 3" diameter at the base, chrome plated with the initials E-T in black letters on the center.  I have reason to believe this might be associated with Mercedes.  Can you confirm this or lead me in the right direction ?

all original equipment for mercedes , no matter the vintage, but especially the vintage stuff will have a part number on it may be proceded by a W or the mercedes star and have numbers like w107,126,123 ect.
Off the top  of my head I cannot think of any model that would haev a chrome plated center cap unless it was an addon. If you like you can send me a picture at fhfarm@mis.net
