Vintage Cars: Small block casting #, small block chevy, timing chain cover

Question
QUESTION: Yes i have a chev engine and i was told it was a 327. Could U  help me find out if thats true? the # are 16016376. Thanks

ANSWER: that number does not match any of my information, are you sure it is correct?
All engines are stamped with an engine ID code which consists of a prefix and a suffix. The location of this code depends on the type of engine, as follows:

Small Block Chevy: Machined pad in front of the passenger side cylinder head. Often hidden by the alterator.

Big Block Chevy: Above timing chain cover.

It should have both letters and numbers

QUESTION: I am sorry the # is K6165  or       v11790nv

Answer
something is still not right
Engine ID Code Example: V0107CLJ - (V = Plant, 01 = January, 07 = 7th Day, CLJ = Engine Suffix Code)
Another example: T0830CTY - (T = Tonawanda, 08 = August, 30 = 30th day, CTY = 1970 396 Camaro, 375 hp, 11.0:1, TH400)
In order for it to be a chevy small block it has to have one of the following suffix's ( or combination in between
3N - CDR | CE - CMJ | CMK - CUD | CUF - DTM | DTR - HQ |
HR - TBS | TBT - TJS | TJT - TXB | TXC - UTT | UTU - ZY |
sorry, are you sure it is a chevy engine?
