Vintage Cars: 1972 Pontiac Grandville, 1972 pontiac grandville, pontiac owner

Question
QUESTION: Hi Jeff:
My father has a 1972 Pontiac Grandville. The car is like new.  Dark green with (I believe) a lighter green roof.  It only has 96,000 actual miles on it.  It has been in a garage most of its life.  My father takes very good care of all his vehicles.  It is in great working condition and he still uses if "for special occasions".  He too is getting up in the years and is thinking about selling it. We are looking for a "value" of this car.  Can you help or let me where I might find this ingo?
Thank you very much!
Karen

ANSWER: A lot depends on the body style and equipment.  Is it a convertible, or a 2- or 4-door hardtop?  What options does it have?  Does he still have the original factory window sticker?  Once you can answer these questions, you need to contact an automotive appraiser in your area that specializes in older cars for an accurate number.  It's impossible to appraise a car without seeing it, and any online data will vary greatly.

QUESTION: Any ideas as to how one locates an automotive apprasier?  (We live in a small rural town in Northern Minnesota.)

Thanks for your input.

Answer
Try some form of online Yellow Pages; I'm sure there's someone in the Duluth area that offers such a service.  You should also search online for a Pontiac Owner's or Pontiac Club forum.  Post your question there, and someone will respond and head you in the right direction.
