Vintage Cars: vin plate for 1966 chevrolet truck, replacement vin plate, chevrolet truck

we have to have our out of state purchased vehicles inspected by the vin plate to match title and we cannot find one, evidentlly it has been removed along the years, my husband needs thisw to transfer title in his name, how do we go about a replacement vin plate for this model truck? your time is mych appreciated, thank you..

If you have the old title, you can probably get a new one without having the vin plate on the truck.  I have never had to actually produce the vehicle when titling a vehicle, if I have the old title and maybe a bill of sale, I am OK.

But if you want a new VIN plate, I just googled "replacement VIN Plate" and got several sites that might help.  This one looked the best, it recommeneds checking your states vehicle codes.  You can find this on-line at your states Sec of State web site or maybe DMV site.
