Vintage Cars: 50 dodge coranet, clutch disc, input shaft

Question
I have the hydomataic trans & it is leaking out of the
front input shaft I pulled the trans thinking it was a bad
front seal but come to find that there is no seal on the
front housing but it is leaking & getting on the clutch disc
I dont know what to do to stop the leak  it looks like there is threads inside the housing that are in the reverse
thread to push the oil back to the gear box but I dont know if that is how it works or not  any help to my leaking trans

There should be some sort of seal, and you are correct, some systems use a spiral cut that actually tends to help force oil one way or the other, but they can't keep it from leaking if there isn't a seal.

I am not very good with automatic transmissions and don't know this model, so you will have to ask another expert or contact a transmission shop.
