Vintage Cars: 69 camaro 4 speed. stuck in second gear, clutch levers, clutch works

i have a 4 speed car and was driving home.   the car got stuck in second gear. the clutch works, feels a little funny but engages as i was able to stop at lights and start in second.   i cant get it out of second much as i tried. tranny's are not my specialty. any ideas?

Try this first:

Get under the car and try to manually set the shift levers to neutral.  You will find two rods going to the tranny from the shifter.  Check these rods for binding, looseness, and being out entirely.  You can grab the two levers coming out of the tranny.  They will go in only three positions, with the middle one being neutral.

With both in neutral, you can try to shift with the shifter again.

The clutch thing could be part of a deeper problem.

It doesn't take a lot to remove these tranny's and the clutch.  Remove the driveshaft, then the tranny (support the engine before you remove the tranny support.  

Inspect the clutch and mechanism.  Also inspect the motor mounts.  Sometimes the motor mounts go bad and the engine will twist and mess up the shifter and clutch levers.
