Vintage Cars: 1967 GTO hurst edition, hurst shifters, 1967 gto

I own a 1967 hurst gto how do I know that it is the real thing or a fake and how many were made in 1967.Thinks in advance. Mike

I'm not aware of a Hurst GTO model made by Pontiac, but there were Hurst shifters.  The most-advertised was the Hurst "His & Hers" gated automatic, which allowed either manual or automatic shifting of the new 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic (so much for the new "manumatics" all the manufacturers talk about!).  Does it actually say "Hurst" on your car somewhere other than the console, like on the outside?
