What Is the Blue Book Value of a 1999 Chevy S10?

If the S-10's ambiguous name can make any claim to fame, it's a triple-down on irony. Isuzu originally called the S-10's predecessor the "Faster," probably because that's what people wound up screaming at the dashboard while trying to merge into traffic. Chevrolet rebadged the Faster as the Light Utility Vehicle, or LUV -- which was a pretty good distance from "loved" by the buying public. The crowning irony is that GM went with the generic "S-10" for its new truck, which was both faster and vastly more loved than either of its predecessors.

Values

  • As of 2013, Kelley Blue Book give a very wide range of prices for the 1999 S-10. According to KBB, a very basic, four-cylinder model might run about $2,100 to $2,900 depending on its condition and mileage. Go for a high-output V-6 with four-wheel drive and every option GM offered, and you could hypothetically expect $8,000 to $8,800. In the real world, though, the range is quite a bit narrower: expect about $3,800 for an LS four-cylinder to about $6,000 for a typical V-6 with four-wheel-drive. You might find the odd truck for sale for more than $9,000 if it has every option, is in pristine condition and has low miles, but the majority will fall between $4,000 and $5,500.
