Tiny Home Fever Drives Couple To Leave Everything Behind

Two years ago, Guillaume Dutilh and Jenna Spersard quit their jobs and built a tiny home. Sick of the “traditional sticks and bricks life” they built a 125 square foot tiny home on a long trailer and began to travel the United States.

As of this September, they have traveled nearly 22,000 miles and explored 22 states and part of Canada. The freedom is exhilarating. Their tiny home, pulled behind their truck, offers them the roots of a house while being completely mobile. They are loving it.

The couple travels with their beloved dog, Salies, and balance exploring while they work online. They consider the entire U.S. their backyard. Building the tiny house cost the couple nearly $30,000 and they spent over 1,000 hours in labor, and untold hours in research. The result is nothing short of awesome.

You can follow the journey as this tiny house travels around North America on their website Tiny House Giant Journey. If you’d like to build a tiny house you will find their blog filled with helpful ideas, especially in the area of creative storage. Beginning in September of 2015 the house will rest for a few months in Denver, Colorado. If you live in the area and would like to attend one of their open house tours, take a look at their travel map to see when the next one is scheduled.
