Head Bolt Torque Specs for a 1986 Chevrolet S10 2.8L

With its introduction in 1982, the S-10 filled the empty slot for a compact truck in Chevrolet's lineup. It continued production until 2004 when it was replaced by the Trailblazer. Your 1986 S-10 was available with either a 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a 2.8-liter V-6.

Head Bolt Torque

  • Apply a small amount of silicone sealer to the head bolt threads. Starting in the middle, torque the cylinder head bolts to 55 to 77 foot-pounds of torque, alternating sides until you finish with the outside bolts.
