How to Remove Climate Control From a Saab 9-3

The climate control unit on your Saab 9-3 is a part of the center console. If you need to repair or replace your Saab's climate control unit, you will need to pry off the center console bezel and then remove the screws that secure the unit. It is a fairly simple procedure that only takes ten minutes to complete.

Things You'll Need

  • Socket wrench
  • Flat-head screwdriver
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Open the Saab's hood and unplug the negative battery cable with a socket wrench.

  • Pry off the center console bezel with a flat-head screwdriver to allow access to the climate control's securing screws.

  • Remove the four screws from the climate control with a Phillips screwdriver. There is one screw in each corner.

  • Pull the climate control unit out towards you. Reach behind the unit and disconnect its wiring connector.

  • Pull the unit out of the Saab vehicle. Installation is the reverse of removal.
