How to Replace the Wiper Blades on a Chevy Impala

There is nothing worse than driving in the rain, sleet or snow and having windshield wipers that are not up to par. Not only is it tough to see, but you are truly putting your safety at risk. Well if you own a Chevy Impala, you're in luck, because in 15 minutes, you can have replacement wiper blades installed. Here's how.

Things You'll Need

  • Chevy Impala wiper blade replacement kit
  • Pull the windshield wiper arm connector up. Note that, unlike other models, the Impala's wiper arms will not stand on their own. This job will require both hands.

  • Raise the clip from the blade connecting point. On the wiper arm, you'll notice a small clip on the back side of the wiper arm. Simply pull it up with your fingers while you continue to hold the wiper arm.

  • Slide the blade assembly down toward the windshield until you have removed the old wiper blade. At this point, you can discard the old wiper blade.

  • Put the new wiper blade on the wiper arm by sliding it along the wiper arm track until it lines up with the clip. (At this point, you're still holding the clip so that it is raised.)

  • Fasten the clip back into place by releasing it and making sure that it fits securely on the wiper blade.

  • Repeat this process on the other wiper blade arm to complete the replacement of the wiper blades on your Chevy Impala.
