Borg Warner Transfer Case Identification

Borg Warner Torque Transfer Systems is one of the largest manufacturers of domestic transfer cases. Borg Warner cases are primarily installed in Ford trucks and SUVs; however, a few GMC/Chevrolet models feature them as well.

ID Plate

  • The best way to identify your transfer case is to use the ID plate. Borg Warner ID plates are rectangular, metal tags that are bolted to the case. The tag will identify the model number, the part number and the unit serial number. All Borg Warner cases begin with "BW."
