How to Replace the Hazard Light Switch on a Ford E150

The E-150 is a full-sized van produced by the Ford Motor Company that uses the Ford F-150's chassis. If the hazard light switch on your Ford E150 breaks, the lights may not turn on or may stay on all the time, depending on what position the switch was in before it broke. Replacing the E150's hazard light switch is important as faulty hazard lights may lead to an accident or, in some states, a citation from the authorities. Replacing the E-150's hazard light switch should only take about 15 minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Open the driver's-side door and locate the turn signal/hazard flasher switch underneath the dashboard to the right of the steering wheel. The hazard light switch is situated to the right of the steering column, just underneath the instrument panel.

  • Remove the screw securing the flasher switch to its retainer bracket and disconnect its electrical wiring connector.

  • Pull the hazard light switch off the E150 and install a replacement hazard light switch onto the E150.

  • Reinstall the single screw and reconnect the electrical wiring connector.
