  • Wire crimper
  • Prop open the hood of your vehicle. Use a socket wrench to disconnect the bolt clamp from the negative battery terminal. Pull the negative cable away from the terminal. Close the hood again.

  • Enter the driver's side of your vehicle. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws which hold the lower dash panel in place, on the panel below the steering wheel. Remove the panel to gain access to the alarm's electrical wiring.

  • Use a pair of wire cutters to cut all of the alarm wires which connect from the alarm module to the door. Proceed to cut away the rest of the wires which connect the alarm to the ignition and other door locks. Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts which hold the alarm module in place. Remove the module from the vehicle.

  • Insert a new alarm module in the same place from which you removed the old one. Secure the module in place by attaching the bolts to hold it in place.

  • Run the wiring from the alarm module to the various sensors located throughout the vehicle. Begin by running some of the alarm wires underneath the lower dashboard to the alarm sensors on the doors.

  • Use your hands to press the wiring in to the connectors located on the door alarm sensors. Place a small amount of duck tape over the connection points between the sensor and the alarm wiring to hold them securely in place. This allow the alarm to activate should anyone tamper with the doors or windows.

  • Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws which hold the upper steering column covers in place. Remove the locking tabs on the covers and remove them from the steering column. This will give you access to the key lock cylinder.

  • Thread the wiring from the module to the lock cylinder. Connect the wiring to the sensor close to the lock cylinder tumbler. Secure the wiring firmly in to the tumbler sensor connector and fix in place by attaching duck tape over them. This will help activate the alarm should someone attempt to tamper with the lock cylinder.

  • Activate the alarm on your vehicle. Carefully pull each of your doors in order to set off your alarm. This will allow you to see that the sensors are connected properly.
