How to Remove a Rear Deck in a Honda Accord

If you are planning to upgrade the sound system in your Honda Accord, you probably need to begin with the speakers. The Honda Accord contains speakers in the back area, known as the rear deck. Removing the rear deck speakers and replacing them is easy and can be done alone, with some simple tools.

Things You'll Need

  • Panel tool
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Locate the grill and insert the panel tool's tip under the lower edge of the grill and pull upwards. Do this until it pops off the door.

  • Remove the screws that are holding the speakers in place, using a screwdriver. Set the screws aside, you will need them again later.

  • Pull the rear deck speaker out. It should come out without any problems. Also, make sure that you disconnect the wires located in the rear of the speaker.

  • Plug in the new speaker and after you place it in the door, secure it in place by reinserting the screws. Attach the grill to the opening of the speaker and push inwards with firm pressure, until it pops back into place.
