How to Remove the Slave Cylinder Line From an S10 Truck

The slave cylinder on your Chevrolet S10 truck is connected to the clutch hydraulic system through one of the hydraulic lines. If the slave cylinder begins to malfunction, you will need to replace it to continue safely operating your vehicle. Removing the hydraulic line from the slave cylinder is necessary in order to remove the slave cylinder itself. The hydraulic line is secured to the slave cylinder through two bolts and once you remove those bolts, you'll be able to disconnect the hydraulic line itself.

Things You'll Need

  • Socket wrench
  • Open the S10 truck's hood and, using a socket wrench, unplug the ground cable from the battery.

  • Crawl underneath the S10 truck and use a socket wrench to uninstall the two 10mm bolts securing the hydraulic line to the slave cylinder.

  • Pull the hydraulic line directly off the slave cylinder. To reattach the line, reconnect it and reinstall the two 10mm bolts.
