The indicator light, or turn signal, on your Honda is needed because it alerts other drivers when you are going to make a turn. Driving without a turn light is dangerous and can result in an accident. If your turn signals on your Honda go out they should be replaced immediately. The two most common turn signal problems include a burned out bulb or a blown fuse. It will take you approximately 20 minutes to diagnose and repair the indicator light problem.
Have your assistant get into your Honda, turn on the ignition and turn on the right turn signal. Check both the front and rear turn signals on the passenger side. Have your assistant then turn on the left turn signal. Examine the front and rear flasher. If none of the indicator lights are working it means you have a blown fuse. If only a single bulb is burned out on your Honda, it means the bulb needs to be replaced.
Open your hood and use your socket set to remove your Honda's negative battery cable. If all of the indicator lights are out, open your main fuse panel under your hood. It is right next to your car's battery. Read the fuse diagram on the inside of the lid or check your owner's manual to determine the fuse number for the fuse that controls the turn signal lights. Fuse location will vary with different models. Pull out the old fuse, with pliers if needed, and then slip the new fuse in. Check the signal lights and replace the fuse box cover and negative battery cable.
Open your hood or trunk if only one bulb is burned out. If a front bulb is out, open your hood. If a rear bulb is out, open the trunk.
Access the burned out turn signal bulb from the rear inside of either the front or rear bumper. Twist the Honda's bulb socket to the left and remove it from the back of the bulb assembly. Remove the bulb and place a new bulb in. Stick the new bulb and socket back through the assembly and twist until it clicks into place.
Replace your Honda's negative battery cable with your socket set.
