How to Repair the Seat Belt of an F-150

While the Ford F-150 is a rather large vehicle on the road, accidents can still happen. When an accident occurs you must have seat belts which are in the best possible condition to ensure your safety. If you notice and damage on any of your seat belts you should look to replace the complete belt assembly no matter what the damage may be.

Things You'll Need

  • Wrench set
  • Screwdriver set
  • Isolate the seat belt which you are looking to replace. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws which hold the plastic casing in place at the top of the belt. This will give you access to the bolts which fix the seat belt in place.

  • Use a wrench to remove the two bolts which are found behind the seat belt. Move your hand along the shoulder harness until you reach the other end of the harness. Remove the bolts located at the other end of the harness. This will allow you to completely remove the seat belt harness.

  • Replace the seat belt harness with a new one and fix in place at either end with the mounting bolts.

  • Repeat the process on the anchor side part of the seat belt. Remove the bolts at either side and lift the anchor side of the seat belt from the vehicle. Replace the anchor side with a new replacement.

  • Attach the anchor to the seat belt by following the removal steps in reverse. Ensure the anchor side is attached the right way round to allow the seat belt clip to easily attach to the plastic connector.
