How to Install a Dash in a 1999 Dodge Ram

The dashboard of your 1999 Dodge Ram is held in place by several metal spring clips. There is actually no need to remove these spring clips as they will come out automatically as you pull up on the dashboard. When installing a new dashboard, the metal spring clips will clip over the dash as you push down on it to secure it.

Things You'll Need

  • Slotted screwdriver
  • Turn the Ram's engine off and remove the keys from the ignition.

  • Begin at the bottom left corner of the dashboard, next to the steering wheel. Pull up on the dash, slowly, and work your way around the dash's edge to completely remove it. Once all of the metal spring clips have been disengaged, remove the dashboard from the Ram.

  • Place the new dashboard into the Ram. Starting with the bottom left corner again, slowly push down on the dashboard, allowing the metal spring clips to lock over the dashboard. Once all the clips have been engaged, give a light tug on the dash to make sure it is secure.
