How to Replace Bumper Covers on an FJ Cruiser

The bumper cover on your Toyota FJ Cruiser, also referred to as a bumper fascia, is important in protecting your vehicle from collisions. Replacing the bumper cover is fairly simple as it is secured only by two bolts on each side and three clips along the top of the bumper cover. It should take no more than 30 minutes to replace the bumper cover on your FJ Cruiser.

Things You'll Need

  • Slotted screwdriver
  • Socket wrench
  • Replacement bumper cover
  • Park the FJ Cruiser on a flat, level surface and enable the parking brake. Keep the wheels straight and go to the front of the vehicle.

  • Pry out the three clips along the top edge of the FJ Cruiser's bumper cover with a slotted screwdriver.

  • Remove the two bolts from each wheel well with a socket wrench. Once the bolts are removed, you can easily lift the bumper cover off of the front of the FJ Cruiser.

  • Place the replacement bumper cover onto the front of the vehicle and reinstall the four bolts in the wheel wells. Reinstall the three clips.
