How to Replace My 2000 Dodge RAM Dashboard

If your 2000 Dodge Ram is involved in an accident and the dashboard is damaged, you should have it replaced as soon as you can. The dashboard on the 2000 Ram is actually only held in place by a few screws, so once you remove the screws you can snap the cover off and remove it from the vehicle. Be careful though, as the dashboards on Dodge vehicles are very fragile and can crack easily.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Turn the Ram's engine off and open the driver's side door.

  • Remove the four screws from atop the dashboard, just below the windshield. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove all four screws.

  • Remove the two side screws on the far left of the dashboard, to the left of the steering wheel.

  • Remove the two side screws on the far right of the dashboard, to the right of the glove compartment.

  • Slowly pull the dashboard off the vehicle. If you fear that you will crack or snap the dashboard, consider using a slotted screwdriver to help you pry it off. Be careful not to scratch the dashboard if you wish to use a slotted screwdriver.

  • Snap the replacement dashboard onto the vehicle. Make sure it is secure.

  • Reinstall the eight screws to hold the dashboard in place.
