The are several reasons it may be necessary to remove the front seats from your Mercedes-Benz CLK 320. Examples include seat or carpet replacement, service of the electronic seat functions, access to the underlying wiring and detailed cleaning of the vehicle's interior. With basic hand tools, your seats can be removed in less than 15 minutes.
Press back on the seat position switch to maneuver the seat backward as far as it will go. Locate the plastic caps on the front of the metal seat rails on the floor. Using a flathead screwdriver, gently pry the caps off to gain access to the bolts.
Unbolt the forward-most bolts using a socket wrench. Place the bolts in a safe location. Using the seat position switch, move the seat forward as far as possible, making the rear bolts visible. Repeat this process to remove them as well.
Reach under the seat and unplug the wiring connector from the power seat control module. Unplug the cable from the heating element if your CLK 320 is equipped with heated seats.
Remove the seat from the vehicle. Repeat this process on the other side to remove the second seat. When finished, place the seats back in the car, reconnect the wiring and securely reinstall the bolts and caps.
