How to Program a Keyless Remote for a 2003 Tiburon

The Tiburon is Hyundai's version of a sporty two-seater. The Tiburon features keyless entry as standard in each model, including the 2003 year. Typically, when you purchase a vehicle with keyless entry you receive two keyless entry remote controls and if you lose one or just obtain an additional remote you can program the new remote to work with your car. On the Tiburon, you can only program a new key at an authorized Hyundai service department. However, you can re-program your current keys if the battery dies or if the remote becomes deactivated.

  • Enter your 2003 Hyundai Tiburon and sit in the driver's seat.

  • Close both doors to your Tiburon and insert your key into the ignition of the vehicle.

  • Turn the key to the "ACC" position. If you don't know what the ACC position is, look at your Tiburon's ignition switch and locate the notation for its location.

  • Hold down the "Open" button on your keyless entry remote until your emergency flashers blink to indicate that your key has been re-programmed to your Tiburon.
