How to Fix a Master Window Switch on a Ford Explorer

The master window switch on a Ford Explorer controls all the windows from one switch that is mounted in the driver's door. This gives the Explorer's driver instant control of all the moveable windows in the mid-sized SUV. If the master window switch in your Ford Explorer malfunctions, you will need to replace it. Although Ford does not offer parts to repair the switches, you can pick up a replacement switch for a relatively small fee at your local Ford dealer. If you have basic auto repair skills, you can perform this job in less than 15 minutes.

  • Snap the new master window switch in place in the driver's door panel.
