How to Remove the Turn Signals on a C6

There is a simple method for removing the turn signals on the C6, or sixth generation of the Chevrolet Corvette. The front turn signals are conveniently located in the headlight assembly, and the rear turn signals are in the taillight assembly. To remove either light, you have to access its assembly. The entire procedure takes no more than a few minutes, and all you'll need for the job is a Phillips screwdriver.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver

Front Turn Signal

  • Turn off the engine of the C6. Turn the wheel all the way in the opposite direction of the side from which you are removing the turn signal.

  • Remove the three fasteners from the access panel cover located in the wheel well. Remove the cover to allow access to the headlight assembly bulbs.

  • Remove the turn signal bulb by rotating it counterclockwise. The turn signal bulb is the smallest bulb on the headlamp assembly. Replace if necessary with a 5702KA bulb. Reattach the cover and the three fasteners.

Rear Turn Signals

  • Turn off the engine of the C6. Remove the screws from the top of the taillight assembly.

  • Tilt the taillight assembly away from the vehicle and locate the turn signal socket. The turn signal socket is the middle socket on the assembly. Rotate it clockwise to remove it from the assembly.

  • Pull the bulb out and replace if needed with a 3057KX bulb. Place the socket back into the vehicle and rotate clockwise to secure. Reinstall the screw on top of the taillight assembly.
