If the light on the mirror of your Ford F-250 burns out, there is no simple solution. Unfortunately, the mirrors were designed so that if something malfunctions, the entire mirror must be replaced. If you want to replace the mirror light, you have to replace the entire mirror.
Park the truck on a level surface and turn off the engine. Roll down the window.
Remove the mirror nut cover by grasping it firmly and pulling it straight out from the window. Remove the cover. Remove grommets from the window and cut openings into the adhesive padding using the flat head screw driver. The openings should be wide enough for your hand to fit through. If any of the bolts or nuts fall into the door, you can reach through these openings to retrieve them.
Remove the switch panel from the armrest by grasping it from the front and prying it up. Disconnect all three of the electrical wire connectors from the switch panel and set the panel off to the side.
Remove the reflector off of the lower corner of the door. This will reveal a 9/32 bolt. Remove the bolt. Grab the door panel and lift it straight up and off the door. Pull the door speaker out and place it aside. Reach in through the speaker opening and disconnect the mirror power wire. This will reveal four 7/16 nuts holding the mirror to the door. Remove the nuts and then remove the mirror.
Remove the mirror wiring from the opening in the door and set the old mirror aside.
Install the replacement mirror to the mirror wiring through the included adapter. Place the mirror back into the door and reinstall the four 7/16 nuts. Click the door speaker back into place. Place the door panel back ont the door and reattach the 9/32 bolt. Reattach the reflector to the lower corner of the door.
Reconnect all three electrical wires to the switch panel and place the switch panel back into the armrest. Reattach the grommets and mirror nut cover.
