How to Assemble an Acura MDX Headlight

If the headlights on your Acura MDX are broken or scratched, you may want to replace them. Fortunately, the design of the front end of the Acura MDX makes the project simple and quick--unlike many vehicles in which nearby engine compartment parts have to be removed. For the Acura MDX, no special tools are needed and no extra parts removed. For these reasons, expect the job to take less than an hour.

Things You'll Need

  • Socket wrench set
  • Painters Tape
  • Turn off your Acura MDX and prop open the hood.

  • Remove the two long bolts running vertically through the headlight assembly as well as the one rear bolt mounting the headlight to the headlight bracket.

  • Disconnect the two wiring harnesses from the rear of the headlight assembly.

  • Pull the headlight assembly out of the vehicle.

  • Remove any working headlights from the old assembly and insert them into the sockets of the replacement assembly.

  • Insert the replacement headlight assembly onto the headlight bracket and secure it with the three bolts removed earlier. Reattach the wiring harness.
