How to Reprogram an Infiniti I30 Remote

The I30 is a mid-sized luxury car sold by Nissan under the Infiniti name in North America. The I30 was produced from 1996 to 2004 and features remote-control locks. To reprogram a remote you must to be in the car with a working key and you must follow a series of simple steps which will take about five minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Working key
  • New remote
  • Get in the car and lock the doors. Put the key in the ignition and remove it six times within 15 seconds. You should finish with the key out, at which time the hazard lights should flash.

  • Insert the key in the ignition and turn it to "Accessory".

  • Press the door-lock button on the driver's door. Press the "Lock" button on the remote. The hazard lights should flash again.

  • Turn the ignition to "Off" and remove the key. Exit the car and close the door. The remote is programmed.
