1997 Chevrolet Cavalier Fuel Filter Removal

The fuel filter on a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier is designed to remove impurities from the gasoline before it reaches the engine. This prolongs the life of the fuel injectors and help to provide the engine with the cleanest burning fuel possible, reducing tailpipe emissions. As time passes, these impurities accumulate inside the fuel filter reducing its effectiveness and creating a clog. A clogged fuel filter can cause a number of driveablility symptoms such as poor acceleration and rough idle. Replacement fuel filters are available from auto parts stores and certified Chevrolet dealerships.
