How to Remove the Glove Box on a Pontiac G6

Seven standard Phillips screws secure the glove box in your Pontiac G6. A typical hook hinge attaches the bottom part. You may need to remove the glove box to install electronic accessories or access your Engine Control Unit (ECU). It only takes 5-7 minutes to remove it from your dash. The process is the same for all models through 2010.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable if you plan on installing or working with any electrical components.

  • Open your glove box door; remove the items inside. Remove the two Phillips screws from the top portion of your glove box door.

  • Disconnect the bottom portion of the glove box from its hinge to access the two bottom screws. Remove the screws.

  • Flip the glove box interior compartment down. The glove box will lower and hang; you'll now have access to the remaining screws on the bottom.

  • Remove the three Phillips screws securing the bottom portion of the glove box. Pull the glove box assembly out
