Front wheel hub bearings sometimes need to be pressed in and out due to the design of the bearing. You'll need a special tool called a hub bearing press, which is made specifically for pressing in and out wheel bearings. Without this tool, the process is virtually impossible to do without damaging the new bearing during installation.
Set the wheel hub and bearing assembly onto the wheel hub press.
Align the wheel bearing with the top part of the press and center the press onto the center of the wheel bearing. The outer edge of the press should press against the outer ring on the wheel bearing.
Pull the handle on the press down and press out the old wheel bearing.
Center the new bearing on the hub and press the new bearing into place to install a new bearing. The bearing must be exactly center, or it will fail prematurely once the full load of the vehicle is on it. The process is the reverse of removal.
