How to Install a Dayton Wheel

Dayton wheels, premium vehicle wheels, have been made in Ohio since 1916. When you swap out your factory wheels for Dayton wheels, you are getting a wheel backed by more than 90 years of specialized engineering. For example, Dayton wheels are made of stainless steel. They are manufactured so they do not need to be retrued or retightened.

Things You'll Need

  • 4 pronged tire wrench
  • 3+ ton hydraulic floor jack with jack stands
  • Torque wrench
  • Set of Dayton wheels
  • Starting with the driver's side front wheel, place the end of the tire wrench over one of the lug nuts and loosen it by turning the wrench counterclockwise. Do the same for each of the lug nuts.

  • Place the jack under the front jack point on your vehicle and jack the front of the vehicle off the ground by pumping the jack handle up and down.

  • Place the jack stands under the front pinch welds and lower the car onto the jack stands. Make sure that the car rests securely on the stands without the assistance of the jack.

  • Continue to loosen and remove the lug nuts and the wheel.

  • Install the new Dayton wheel where the old wheel used to be.

  • Put the lug nuts back on and tighten them so the the tire sits firmly against the wheel hub assembly. You may need to use the tire wrench for this.

  • Repeat this process for the passenger's side front wheel. Jack up the car and remove the front jack stands. Repeat the process with the rear wheels.

  • When you have installed the Dayton wheels and lowered the car back to the ground, tighten all of the lug nuts in a crisscross pattern with the torque wrench. Make sure to torque the lug nuts to 100 ft lbs.
