How do I Disconnect the Theft Warning System in a 1993 Infiniti G20?

The anti-theft system in the Infiniti G20 operates via a remote key fob. You must disable the system before completely disconnecting the alarm. Simple wiring work is all that is needed to finalize the disconnection.

Things You'll Need

  • Alarm key fob
  • Ignition key
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Wire cutters
  • Wire caps
  • Wire Crimpers
  • Press the button on your alarm key-fob that deactivates the alarm. Press the "unlock" button if your G20 has keyless entry. Manually unlock the driver's side door -- this deactivates the alarm -- if you've misplaced your key fob.

  • Open and secure the hood of the car. Gently pry the negative battery cable off the terminal, using a flathead screwdriver. Move the cable aside so that it doesn't come into contact with any metal. Disconnecting the battery cable completely disables the alarm, allowing you to work on it.

  • Pull the panel off the theft module. It is located under the driver's side of the dashboard, near the steering column.

  • Use wire cutters to cut the green and yellow wire. Slide a wire cap onto both ends of the wire. Secure the cap in place using wire crimpers.

  • Replace the negative battery cable, and close the hood of the car.
