CompuSTAR Alarm Instructions

The CompuSTAR car alarm locks up your car and arms it to prevent break-ins. When your car faces an attempted compromise, a loud alarm will sound, warding off possible intruders. The system comes with a touch-screen in-car interface and a remote control. You take the remote control with you after you leave the car to control the alarm. The remote control allows you to arm, disarm, lock, open and even remotely start the car. Learn all about the basics of your alarm system before taking your car out.

  • Push the "Lock/Sound" key for half a second on your remote control to lock or arm your car. Once you have armed the car, a hard touch or the lifting of a handle will set off the alarm. Holding down the "Lock/Sound" button for 3.5 seconds will lock the car and send the system into panic mode, which will set off the alarm.

  • Press the "Unlock" key on your remote control for half a second to unlock and disarm your car. All doors will unlock and the alarm will shut off, allowing you to enter your vehicle without setting off the alarm. Push the "Unlock" and "Trunk" keys simultaneously to enable passive arming. Passive arming will arm and lock the car 30 seconds after you have disarmed the alarm.

  • Press the "Trunk" key on your remote control for half a second to defrost your rear window. Push the "Trunk" key for 2.5 seconds to trigger the trunk release and open your car's trunk. If you push the button to open your trunk and you're within range, your remote will beep once to let you know your car has received the signal, and the trunk will open.

  • Press the "Target" key on the remote control for half a second to roll down the windows. Press and hold the "Target" button for 2.5 seconds to automatically start your car remotely. If you push the button to start your car remotely and are within range of the system, your remote will beep once and the key icon will illuminate to let you know the car has received your signal. After the car has started, all lights on the remote will flash. Press the "Target" button for 2.5 seconds again to turn off the remote start.

  • Turn on your car's ignition and press the "Lock/Sound" and "Trunk" icons on your system's touch screen simultaneously for half a second to put your car into valet mode. Your parking lights, the open door icon and hammer icons will all blink to let you know valet mode has been activated. Set your car to valet mode when you're loaning the car to someone or having it serviced. This mode will disable all alarm functions until you disable valet mode by repeating the process.
