What Does It Mean When My Pioneer Radio Beeps 4 Times?

If you own a Pioneer car stereo and have heard it beeping, you may find the noise confusing or annoying. You can quickly turn off this warning feature so that you do not have to hear the beeping if that is your preference.

Why Your Radio Beeps

  • Your Pioneer stereo beeps when you turn it off as a reminder for you to remove the detachable faceplate. This is a security measure to prevent would-be thieves from stealing the stereo.

How to Turn Off the Beeping

  • If you do not wish these warning beeps to sound, press the "Source" button and hold it until the radio shuts off. Press and hold either the "Function" or "Audio" button. When the display pops up, let go. Press the "Function" or "Audio" button again until "Warn" appears on the display. Use the arrows to turn off the warning feature.

Reactivating Warning Beeps

  • If you find yourself forgetting to detach the faceplate and would like to reactivate the warning beeps, repeat the above steps, but instead, once "WARN" appears on the display, use the arrows to turn the warning back on.
