A popular variety of panfish, the crappie thrives in freshwater lakes throughout the United States. Crappie fish aren't picky eaters, and a variety of baits and lures attract them to the hook with little to no problem. Ordinarily, live bait is the best bait for crappie fishing, but when it's not available making your own bait proves to be useful. Making homemade crappie bait provides you with a cost friendly way to keep an endless supply of fishing bait on hand.
Put raw chicken livers with the blood and fish bouillon to a sauce pan.
Turn the stove on medium heat and cover the saucepan. Let it simmer for 45 minutes. Stir every now and then so it doesn't stick or scorch the bottom.
Strain the liquid from the cooked liver.
Put the liver on the baking sheet and smash it into a paste. Spread it out evenly on the sheet.
Bake the sheet for about 25 minutes.
Let the liver mixture cool for about an hour before cutting it into small one inch chunks. Store in the freezer until it's ready to be used.
