AUX, which is a short form of the word "auxiliary," is a setting used on a variety of electronics, including Kenwood stereos. Using the AUX setting is useful for plugging in MP3 players and other sound devices when listening to music on an automobile's speakers is desired.
Locate the "source" button on the stereo. This is a small button usually located next to or under the left tuning knob.
Depress the button continuously until it cycles through the "CD," "Tuner" and ultimately "AUX" settings.
Select the AUX setting. This setting will allow you to play MP3's and other music files.
