How to Make a Club Car Precedent Go Faster

Club cars are common on golf courses around the world, and can be seen in a variety of other locations as well. On the course and out of the factory, these carts are usually restricted to about 10-15 miles per hour, which is fast enough for some. It may, however, be too slow for others, and there are steps you can take to add some speed to your club car on and off the course.

  • Remove any additional or extraneous features on the club car to allow for a lighter weight. These can include racks, windshields, extra accessories or pieces of equipment.

  • Power wash the cart and be sure to pay extra attention to the wheels and wheel wells. Be sure to remove any dirt, dust or grime from the cart to allow it to move at its most efficient.

  • Remove any restrictors on the carts gas pedal. Some manufacturers place bars that prevent you from pressing the pedal all the way, and these can be removed with a wrench or screwdriver.

  • Add larger tires to the cart. This will allow you to cover more ground with the same power engine. The same amount of revolutions per minute will allow you to move farther because of the size of the larger wheels.
