Keyless entry is a convenient feature, but is also a valuable safety system to have installed in your Toyota Yaris. Keyless entry systems allow you to enter your car quicker and easier, and also serve as theft deterrents. The keyless entry installation process does not require any tools and only takes a couple of minutes to complete.
Open the driver's door and keep it unlocked. Insert and remove the key in and out of the ignition twice within five seconds. Close and open the driver's door two times within 40 seconds. Insert and remove the key from the ignition.
Close and open the driver's door two times within 40 seconds. Insert the key into the ignition and close the door. Turn the ignition from "Lock" to "On" and back to "Lock." Remove the key from the ignition. The power doors then lock and unlock to signify the beginning of the programing mode.
Press both the "Lock" and "Unlock" button on the remote you are programing within 40 seconds of the car entering the programing mode. Within three seconds, press the "Lock" button on the remote for a full second. Repeat this step to program additional remotes. After each remote is programed, the power doors lock and unlock. Open the door to exit the programing mode.
