How to Program a BMW 330i Key

The BMW 330i is part of BMW's 3 Series, which is characterized by sleek bodies, powerful engines and luxurious interiors. The 330i is part of the fifth generation of the three series, which began in 2005 and continues through 2012. An optional keyless entry lock system is available for the 330i, which allows single-button unlocking and locking of the doors as well as a panic button that activates the car's alarm system. Programming new keys takes less than five minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • New keys
  • Close all of the doors, the trunk and the hood.

  • Place the key in the ignition and turn it to position one, "Accessory". Turn it back to "Off". Do this four more times and remove the key from the ignition when you are done.

  • Press and hold the "unlock" button and then press and release the "lock" button three times. Release the "unlock" button. If the locks cycle, then you have done this correctly. Repeat this step for each key you wish to program.

  • Inset the key in the ignition and turn it to "Accessory" to exit programming mode.
